Please read these Terms & Conditions carefully before using our website or booking any services. By using www.shongolololanguageschool.com or booking a lesson, you agree to these terms.
1. About us
Shongololo Language School is an online English language school offering tuition to Slovak speakers, delivered by qualified South African teachers.
2. Eligibility
Our services are available to individuals aged 16 and over. If you are under 18, you must have the consent of a parent or legal guardian before booking a lesson. By booking a service, you confirm that you meet these requirements.
3. Services
We offer the following English language services:
- Free English Goal Call (20 minutes)
- Conversation Practice
- Exam Preparation
- Business English
- Job Interview Preparation
- English Editing & Proofreading
All lessons are delivered online and last 60 minutes unless stated otherwise. Lesson content and structure may be adjusted to suit each student’s needs and level.
4. Booking and payment
- Lessons are booked through our online booking page and paid for in advance.
- Prices are shown in euros (€). A 60-minute lesson costs €25. Editing and proofreading is priced individually on request.
- We may change our prices at any time. Price changes do not affect lessons that are already booked and paid.
- Payments are processed securely by Stripe. We do not store your payment card details.
- Your booking is confirmed once payment has been received.
5. Rescheduling and cancellations
Please see our Refund Policy for full details. In short:
- No refunds are issued for cancelled lessons, but lessons may be rescheduled with advance notice.
- Same-day cancellations and no-shows are forfeited.
- If we cancel a lesson, you will be offered a free rescheduled lesson.
6. Student responsibilities
As a student, you agree to:
- attend lessons at the agreed time with a stable internet connection and working audio and video;
- treat teachers with respect at all times — abusive, offensive or inappropriate behaviour will end the lesson immediately with no refund;
- not record, reproduce or distribute lesson content without our prior written consent;
- provide accurate personal information when booking.
7. Our responsibilities
We will:
- make every reasonable effort to deliver lessons as booked;
- provide qualified, professional teachers;
- tell you as soon as possible if we need to cancel or change a lesson;
- respond to enquiries within a reasonable time.
We do not guarantee specific learning outcomes or exam results, as progress depends on individual effort and engagement.
8. Intellectual property
All content on this website — including text, images, lesson materials and branding — belongs to Shongololo Language School and is protected by copyright. You may not copy, reproduce, distribute or use our content without our written permission. Lesson materials shared with students are for personal learning only.
9. Website use
By using our website, you agree not to:
- use the site for any unlawful purpose;
- attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the site or its systems;
- upload or send any harmful, offensive or disruptive content;
- use automated tools to scrape or copy website content.
10. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Shongololo Language School is not liable for:
- any indirect, incidental or consequential loss arising from the use of our services or website;
- technical issues beyond our control, including internet outages, platform downtime or device failures;
- any loss resulting from reliance on information on our website.
Our total liability to you in connection with any booking will not exceed the amount you paid for the relevant lesson.
11. Third-party services
We use third-party services for hosting (Cloudflare), booking (Google Calendar), payments (Stripe) and messaging (WhatsApp). We are not responsible for the availability or conduct of these services, and their use is subject to their own terms and privacy policies.
12. Privacy
Your use of our website and services is also governed by our Privacy Policy.
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms & Conditions at any time. Updated terms will be posted on this page with a new date. Bookings made before a change are handled under the terms in place when you booked.
14. Governing law
We serve customers mainly in Slovakia and the European Union and aim to comply with EU consumer protection law, including the Consumer Rights Directive. If you are an EU consumer, nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights.
